Râmnicu Vâlcea, a sleepy town in the mountains of Romania with an infamous reputation. The media have taken to calling it 'Hackerville' because of the amount of cyber crime taking place amongst the quaint atmosphere. But when a global pandemic drove much of the world's population online and opened the gates to more online fraud, what did this do to a place that was already profiting from it? Hackerville is a three part documentary series, where we start by visiting Râmnicu Vâlcea and speaking to the people that live there about their homes heavy reputation, before visiting the Deputy Head Prosecutor for cyber crime from Romanian government authority DIICOT... which sends the journey into unexpected territory.
